Use cases

Safety observations & near-miss reporting

Build a proactive safety culture with structured observation programs.

QEHS safety observations let any worker submit a positive, corrective, or near-miss observation from their mobile device. Managers see leading-indicator trends; supervisors receive auto-routed action requests.

The problem

  • Workers do not report near-misses because the process is too cumbersome
  • Observations collected on paper are never analysed
  • No way to correlate observation volume with leading indicator targets

How it works

A step-by-step walkthrough of this use case in QEHS.

  1. Submit an observation

Open the QEHS app, tap "Safety observation", choose observation type (positive/corrective/near-miss), add a photo and GPS location.

  2. Route the record

Corrective and near-miss observations route automatically to the responsible supervisor for action.

  3. Assign corrective action

Supervisor creates a corrective action with due date and owner; worker receives a closed-loop notification when it is resolved.

  4. Track leading indicators

Program dashboard shows observations per person, ratio of positive to corrective, and action closure rate.
