Ergonomics assessments
Identify and control musculoskeletal hazards before they become injuries.
QEHS ergonomics module supports RULA, REBA, and manual-handling assessments. Assessors work through a structured questionnaire, capture photos, and score risk; control recommendations are linked to corrective actions.
The problem
- Ergonomic assessments are performed rarely and findings are not tracked to closure
- No consistent methodology — different assessors produce incomparable results
- Musculoskeletal injuries are the leading cause of lost time but ergonomic data is unavailable
How it works
A step-by-step walkthrough of this use case in QEHS.
Select the assessment type
Choose RULA, REBA, manual handling, or a custom ergonomics checklist for the task being assessed.
Capture the task
Assessor photographs the worker performing the task; body angles and posture details are recorded in the form.
Score the risk
The assessment calculates a RULA/REBA score; the system highlights high-risk body regions.
Recommend controls
Controls from the hierarchy (engineering, admin, PPE) are documented; a corrective action is created for each item.
Re-assess after controls
A follow-up assessment confirms that control measures reduced the ergonomic risk to an acceptable level.
